Since it was incorporated on 15 December 1987, HELIAND, S.A. has been a pioneering helicopter firm, the first providing air services with entirely Andorran airships and capital.

HELIAND, S.A. purchased its own helicopter in 1990 directly from the French manufacturers Eurocopter. The model selected was an ECUREUIL AS 350 B2, as its specifications and versatility are most appropriate for the geography of our country.

Thanks to the quality service provided by our staff, the trust of our clients and the increase and diversification of services, in 1995 HELIAND, S.A. purchased a second helicopter, a LAMA SA 315 B.

In view of all this and with a constant search for new activities, in 1998 HELIAND, S.A. set up the first training school for private pilots in the Principality and for this purchased a new helicopter, a Robinson BETA II, which is specially suited for training and learning.

At the same time, in order to be able to respond to the most specialized requirements of our clients, HELIAND, S.A. has rented a whole series of helicopters such as the Jet Ranger, Alouette II, Alouette III, Lama, Ecureuil, BELL 205, BELL 212, Kamov, BELL 214 B, Super Puma, etc.

HELIAND, S.A. made a great investment effort in setting up the first helipad in the Principality, equipping it with a hangar and all the services necessary to carry out a proper maintenance of the helicopters, something essential for flight safety bearing in mind the highly specific weather conditions of our country.

Our country needed services and HELIAND, S.A. responded to them, making the effort to provide them, since during the first few years the market was not sufficient to cover the considerable effort made. Progressively HELIAND, S.A. had adapted to the development of the market, taking on more high level professional staff to cover the daily more important specialization of the services.

The activities carried out by HELIAND, S.A. in recent years have been many and diverse: transport of material to geographical points which are most difficult to access, transport of staff, searches for persons, transport of injured persons with the fire brigade and police corps of the Government of Andorra, all these services being done in the Principality, fire fighting services for both the Andorran fire brigade corps and that of the Generalitat of Catalonia. All this work was carried out with no incident of any sort.

The constant development of our society has led us to invest in new activities to make use of our resources and the potential of our country. In recent years we have enhanced tourist activity by creating a series of innovative offers to enable tourists to get to know our country. Up to 2001 we transported more than 10.300 persons.
